The Real Liar: Joe Wilson

With all the attention to South Carolina nutcase Joe Wilson, as usual, the media’s missing the real story.

Everybody’s been talking about his unbelievable rudeness in calling President Obama a liar.

What the media’s missing is that Wilson himself was lying when he called Obama a liar about health care and illegal immigrants.

According to PolitiFact, when the president said “there are those who claim that our reform efforts would insure illegal immigrants. This, too, is false” – the sentence which triggered Wilson to shout out “You lie!” – Obama was telling the truth.

Under the Obama plan, those here illegally would not qualify to buy insurance under the public option, if there is one; nor would they qualify for government subsidies to low-income people who can’t afford insurance.

Of course, if an illegal immigrant gets hit by a bus and ends up in the emergency room, they’re going to be treated – and you and I are going to pay for it. But that’s not part of Obama’s plan. That’s the way it is today, that’s the way it’s always been, and that’s the way it always will be. Because, faced with a life and death situation, doctors are not going to check for green cards first.

Bottom line: Wouldn’t you know it? The man who called President Obama  a liar is – a liar!
