  1. T.L. Workman says:

    Congressman Wilson:

Your outrageous outburst during the President’s address last night is unexcusable and requires a reprimsnd from your peers. The state of poloitics in this country, thanks to you RepubliCANTS, is deplorable. Try acting as a stateman for a change, if that is at all possible for one suchg as you.

  2. Barbara Roberts says:

You are a pig ! I honestly cannot believe that you called the president a liar. Heckled the President of the United States on National television. You ought to be ashamed of yourself. People like you are the reason this country is so divided. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. You are a pig. You deserve everything that comes your way.

  3. Michael Scheffer says:

Joe Wilson should be publicly reprimanded at the very least. His constiuents should send him a loud and clear message that we do not need such immature and unprofessional types representing us. However, I predict that the ultra-right neocons will flock to his aid and try and rally around this issue.

  4. Thomas Orzechowski says:

The level of childishness that has taken hold of some members of the Republican party is an absolute disgrace. Congressman Wilson would do well to ask his parents what it is to display proper manners in public. His ignorance of the bill in question displays his disrespect not only of his President but of his constituents. I expect that the Republican caucus will reprimand Congressman Wilson for this amazingly inappropriate outburst.

  5. What a real jerk!!!!He should stay out of public office and go fishing!

  6. Anne N. Philiben says:

Congressman Joe Wilson is a disgrace to S. Carolina and the House of Republicans. I am sick to death of what these morons are doing to this country. If he’d read the damn bill he’d have known that illegal immigrants are not covered.
If Republican behavior was not so sickening…it would almost be funny.
I can just imagine the hue and cry if any democrat had done that during the many lies President Bush told during his speeches.

  7. BJ Walker says:

WHAT A DISGRACE !!!! In the history of the country. .there has NOT been an incident of such consequence. . .a TOTAL DISRESPECT of the POTUS. . . This Wilson representative is just the tip of the iceberg of the GOP. . . you all think it’s alright to dismiss President Obama because he’s just another black-guy !!!!!!
I am outraged by the temperment and tone of the GOP. You can be a loyal opposition, but it’s OUT OF CONTROL now and I’ll NEVER VOTE FOR ANOTHER REPUBLICAN FOR AS LONG AS I LIVE !!!!
Wilson is a disgrace. . .and he’s speaking for all of you !!!!

  8. Roglyn Williams says:

Joe Wilson should be reprimanded. It is unheard of to disrespect the President of the United States in the manner that he did. What lesson does it teach our children about respecting the Office of the Presidency especially when Joe Wilson was the one that was lying.

  9. Sue Cohen says:

    HI:
This is the copy of the letter I sent DINO!

    Hi:
I thought there was something called a “Southern Gentleman.”

I guess I was severely mistaken! What an embarrassment Joe Wilson is!

I love the picture: the very outrage of an old white guy who just cannot handle a Black President and shouts like a thug and moron!

The good news is he helped raise LOTS of $$$ for his opponent.

Dino, get your resume polished up–you may be looking for a new job–

  10. Beverly says:

He must apologize. He must admit it was he who lied.

  11. Patricia Szczepanski says:

Mr. Wilson is an utter disgrace! He is a typical republican. His behavior is unforgivable. I cannot believe an elected representative could behave in such a despicable way. He must be reprimanded!!!!

  12. Sal Verrastro says:

Joe Wilson should not only be reprimanded but thrown out of congress. he should at the least be banned from all Congresional committees. A am going to write to some of my republican representatives and ask them to have some character and come out publicly against his actions. Joe Wilson is the liar!

  13. Rebecca Loeding says:

This guy should be reprimanded to the max. Such unprofessional, disrespectful regard to the President is unforgivable. Please provide public reprimand

  14. Michael Dean says:

you need to publically apologize to the president on the floor of congress.
forest Gump explained your actions well when he said stupid is as stupid does

  15. Linda Gries says:

    Dear Senator Wilson,

I am so embarrassed for you and your actions last evening! I am a teacher and I have had many Kindergarten students who would not be so rude to a speaker, especially the President of the United States!!! You are lucky I don’t live in your state as I would work very hard to get you voted out of Congress.

  16. Michele Bateman says:

WOW! As a Canadian, I am shocked at how low American politics is stooping – clearly there is racism on the part of Republicans – it is blatant, but for someone to heckle the President during a speech? WOW is all I can say. Joe Wilson deserves to be reprimanded for sure! Go Rob Miller – win that seat!

Thanks for posting this Bill and for trying to keep them honest.

  17. Linda Gries says:

I am saddened by the disrespect I see in some elected officials!

  18. Michael says:

As a life long independent voter, and a veteran of Viet Nam war I am appalled by Congress person Wilson’s outburst during President Obama’s speech to our country.

I build my knowledge on my ability to listen to a reasoned argument regardless of a persons politics.

Also as a veteran, I was taught to respect my Commander in Chief; I gave George W. Bush that respect, regardless of how wrong I thought his orders were. It is the respect I learned from my parents and the military you show a person. Congress person Wilson showed he did not learn his lessons so shame on him.

So you know, I was angered enough to make a contribution to his opponent and expect Mr. Wilson to make an a very public apology for his ignorant outburst.

  19. Bob Miya says:

Good: Joe Wilson should apologize in person to President Obama.
Better: Republican Caucus should censure Joe Wilson.
    Best: Joe Wilson should resign.

  20. Richard says:

    Here’s what I sent:

Outraged at Joe Wilson’s Outburst “You Lie”

    Chief of Staff Dino Teppara

This is more than a case for an apology, this is without precedent and demands that John Boehner ask the Republican caucus to reprimand Joe Wilson for this outrageous behavior unbecoming of an elected official.

After that type of tactic I hesitate to include my name in this most serious email as an American thinking about what the world now thinks of us. But know that this has produced a shameful shadow on us.

  21. Robin Nagle says:

I cannot believe a member of the Congress of the United States would insult our President during his speech to the Joint Session by shouting out insulting accusations. It is sad enough that this type of behavior was prevalent in Town Meetings and organized by extremists with the financial backing of the insurance industry, but to behave like this on national TV in one of the most respected venues of the United States of America is unacceptable.
Joe Wilson should publicly apologize and, better yet, resign. Would we expect our children to pattern this behavior? I think not.
My donations will be going to Rob Miller to defeat Joe Wilson’s re-election.
Thanks Joe for demonstrating that the only concern of most Republicans is to defeat any health care reform. I guess I should thank him for united the opposition.

  22. Patricia Parrish says:

Joe Wilson, you blithering idiot. Is it your plan to lower the decorum of elected office?
    Resign. Now.

  23. Barry Wawrin - OH says:

Joe Wilson’s (R-SC) extreme disrespect for the President of the United States cannot go ignored.

Joe Wilson’s apology is not enough..!

We demand that the Republican Caucus officially reprimanded Congressmen Joe Wilson for his deplorable and juvenile behavior.

    Barry Wawrin

  24. M Holt says:

Hi, About rep Kracker from SC, I dint hink an issue ahould be made about his stupid outburst, let it stand for what it is, and what it says about the neo-con party. The Issues, should be his cowadice in issueing an apology so fast, his dysfunctional personality traits, that is not having an self control, kind of like Gov sanford. And, I wouldlike to see his record on immagration, since he does seem to have a mecican bias, judging ny his comments. Look atthe agruculture in SC, and his district, chuckens, eggs , hogs, etc. ALl these industries wouldnt run if not for immagrant, legal and illlegal labor, call him oput fo his hypocrisy on this.I see his sons have all reciebed commisions in the military, the naval acadeny, the SC Guard, Did Daddy Kracker use his influence to help them along? one of his Kracker kids is running for Atty gen. , these are relevant issues, as to did they really accomplish getting military standing on their own? or did daady Krackr pull some strings? As I see it, since bushie neo-cons, thru what we have seen during the health care debates from the neo cons, there are no more lines , anything, and everything can be said or implied, Ima gun owning left winger, and Im pissed, and I have no qualms about putting neo con tactics back on them. To long they have did their dirty work unchallenged, time to get active.

  25. anthony Moscatello says:

    Bill,
Should we not call things by their true names? Isn’t what Joe Wilson did last night sedition? Have those people on the extreme right no shame at all? Were they not aware that the whole world was watching?

  26. Paul Schuh says:

What the country witnessed last night is only a symptom to the problem with our Congress at this time in history. Mr. Wilson displayed the absolute worst conduct of “The People’s House” that I have ever seen or heard in my 57 years. The display just verifies what most of the country already knows about the Republican Party and their leadership and the direction that the party is going. It is rude, crude and abusive. They offer no solutions only insults and protections for their corporate bosses from K-Street. That is why they cannot govern and never will with the current mentality that is directing such uncivil baehavior.

  27. How dare you? Even with all the mistakes and lies of GW Bush we still gave him the respect of his office. You should step down> You better beleive Rob Miller will receive a donation from me!!!!

  28. Allen Edwards says:

Mr. Wilson showed the same un-American disdain for the office of the Presidency that the parents who objected to his speech to the kids showed. Shame on him. Shame on them.

  29. Daniel Evjen says:

Please reprimand Joe Wilson to the fullest extent of the law!! This outrageous liar who thinks it’s ok to carry on in front of the American people and both houses of Congress like some kind of right wing paid stage actor heckler at a town hall meetings is unforgivable. Never has an elected American congressman acted in such an irresponsible way.

  30. Alesia says:

Little joe. How dare you open your mouth to Our president om national tv. Are you a fool? Or do you not have control of your mouth? I am ashame of you. And because of your inability to control yourself. I will send mony to help. Mr. Rob Miller because you shamed your party. WHAT A LOUD MOUTH YOU ARE THANK YOU

  31. Tom Lamb says:

It is a lie! That is what he should Wilson should be told. He should be removed.

  32. Mark says:

    The man is an animal!

  33. Sandy Hermes says:

I cannot believe the disrespect to our President. The Republicans have shown their colors over and over, but to disrespect him on national tv by calling him a liar is appalling. Dirty politics have got to stop before their hate views result in something disasterous happening to our president.

  34. Chris Stevens says:

This Congressman should be tarred and feathered in front of the American people.

  35. Nell Thompson says:

    Dear Congressman Wilson
Last night, I was truly ashamed to be from the State of South Carolina because of your outburst towards our President. Our President was elected by the majority of this country. It is not respectful, kind, or Christian to yell out in this forum.

This country needs respectful leadership and healing, not angry leaders who act like children. I am under the age of forty and I wonder what will my future will be like if we do not stop this war and fix healthcare. The negative and caustic behavior of the Republican party is only making your party an obsolete party with no new ideas.

    Nell Thompson
    Orlando, Fl.

  36. Ed Tootill says:

I have never witnessed such disrepect for a President of the United States. That comment was an embarrassment for this country.

  37. Dan Kvalheim says:

President Obama should have asked him to leave the chamber or be escorted out immediately. To interrupt a Presidential address to Congress, and to the American people, is as disrespectful a thing to do as I can think of. It’s just another sign of the times for the GOP, as they see everything they once had a stranglehold on slipping away, and no one in their ranks coherent or smart enough to do a thing about it. Joe just ensured his seat will change to blue after the next election. He is a putz to the highest order, and it’ll be entertaining as hell to watch the downward spiral as it happens.

  38. Natalie Besanson says:

I just contributed to Rob Miller. Joe Wilson should start packing. He is a disgrace to the office he holds.

  39. Steve Harvey says:

The email address provided bounced back, is there a better address?

  40. Brenda Tyler says:

I think that Joe Wilson showed his disrespect for the president last night when he called him a liar. I cannot believe that we have congress men representing us who would stoop to this level. He is representing constituents who expect him to set an example. Well, he certainly set a poor example last night when he yelled out “liar” to the President of the United States. The republicans in general have showed a disrespect and unwillingness to work with this president and they should be reprimanded as well. I hope the voters will come out in record numbers in 2012 to vote for Barak Obama to show the republicans that we love this president and we respect what he has done and will continue to do for this country.

  41. Gena P Davis says:

What Congressman Joe Wilson did is rude, disrespectful and just apologizing is not enough. He should start out by getting in front of the house and apoligize to the body and the american people where was he when Bush did lie to the country. He does not deserve to hold the office and I am donating to Rob Miller, Wilsons behaviour is unbecoming and he is a liar and a coward

  42. Nicole Jewell says:

As a mother, I wathced with my children to show them how the political process works. Imagine my horror when my 9 year said, “shouldn’t he have raised his hand? My teacher said that shouting things out is disrespectful” Thanks for yet another fine example for the youth of our nation! And we are concerned about the example the president sets?

  43. Casey Carney says:

Thank God for Joe Wilson!! Finally someone with stones enough to speak truth to power. No one respects the office of the President as much as I, when the occupant respects the office. Clearly that is not the case here.

    Go Joe!

  44. The office of President REQUIRES RESPECT. This idiot Wilson shoudld be tar and feathered for no respect-this is the problem with too many people now a days. They have NO RESPECT FOR ANYONE-even for the PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Too bad this Wilson doesn’t end up with no insurance and a terminal illness, or even expensive hospital stays or a lingering disease—-then he would feel the real American’s sorrows!!!!!!!! since the House and Senators don’t have to worry about pensions or insurance………..

  45. tar and feather this wilson ……..

  46. JOHN A. GORHAM says:

    Mr. Wilson,

You sir are a disgrace to your body, your state and our Nation. If you can not control yourself perhaps you should excuse yourself. Try to act like the man you are supposed to be.

  47. Maria H. Rexach, MD says:

Shouting in the middle to the President’s Health Care Reform speech was totally uncalled for. It was a lack of respect, at least for the office of President. It shows that Rep. Wilson is made of.

A demand for a public reprimand, as public as his lack of respect was, is requested, if not more. Don’t sit on it. Make this as public as you have done other issues. If you don’t, it will reflect on you, Sir!

  48. PATRICE ELMORE says:

SHAME ON THIS CONGRESSMAN. JOE WILSON DISPLAYED AN UNPATRIOTIC AND DISGRACEFUL ACTION. I DEMAND THAT HE BE SANCTIONED. THANK YOU, PATRICE ELMORE

  49. Christina Jenkins says:

How embarrasing was last night’s outburst and body language from a man who is an elected official and representative of Americans.

I am ashamed and embarrassed for him. I am also embarrassed for the President (those past, present, and future), and the lack of respect for the office that represents America itself. What a slap in the face to each of us!

Does Joe Wilson have a clue of what it’s like to work in the 9 to 6 corporate rut in these times, paying thousands in taxes and only able to save $100/month, and worrying that today will be the day he gets his pink slip? Or worse yet, that your insurance won’t cover a routine checkup and medical bills for $73 each will pile up (oops, there goes savings. And I’m not irresponsible, don’t have a mortgage…I’m 5 years out of graduate school, have student loans, and live in my grandmother’s old house built in the 50s that’s falling apart as we speak)? Is he at all concerned about people like me? I certainly couldn’t tell last night.

For some of us, faith in God and country is all we have to hold on to right now. Joe Wilson should respect that and shouldn’t have cheapened that last night. Otherwise, what are we all going to work and paying taxes for if all this thing is going to do is fail? I don’t want to pay Congress to have a pseudo vacation doing nothing on the Hill.

If we can hold our tongues at work everyday while the pressure is on, so can you, Joe. We deserve better.

  50. Kim J Seter says:

I contacted Boehner’s office and indicated my feelings that, an apology to President Obama was necessary but not sufficient. An apology is owed to the American people! President Obama is our elected President whether you like it or not.

I also sent an email to Chief of Staff Teppara but received a notice that I “do not have permission” to communicate with him. That is not surprising.

Thanks for providing this information for us to utilize.
