Tell Joe Lieberman that he’s WRONG on health care

Senator Joe Lieberman (I-CT) said he will vote against Harry Reid’s proposed health reform bill that includes a public plan option. Call Senator Lieberman’s office and tell him he’s wrong to do so, and should vote FOR it.

  1. “Senator” Joe Lieberman,
Your health care vote filibuster threat is pathetic. You ought to be kissing the Presidents boots to keep the progressives from throwing you under the bus. You had an opportunity to redeem yourself, and you failed miserably. You are a disgrace to the “Independent” Party. You are definately NO Bernie Sanders! Why don’t you just go where you belong…

  2. WE NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED A PUBLIC OPTION TO GIVE THE INS CO COMPETITION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. DEAR SENATOR LIEBERMAN. THANK GOODNESS FOR YOU. THE COURAGE YOU SHOWED AND THE ACUMEN FOR NOT FOLLOWING RADICALS REALLY SETS YOU OUT AS A GREAT SENATOR. PLEASE STICK TO YOUR GUNS. I’M ALL FOR INSURING EVERYONE, PROPERLY, BUT THIS BILL, THE PUBLIC OPTION, IS JUST SO BAD. LEAVING IT UP TO THE GOVERNMENT THAT HAS BANKRUPTED EVERY MAJOR PROGRAM, AND RUINING THE FUTURE OF MY CHILDREN, THEIR CHILDREN, AND THEIR GRANDCHILDREN IS SO IRRESPONSIBLE THAT I’M GLAD THAT SOMEONE LIKE YOURSELF IS WILLING TO BUCK HIS PARTY AND TO STAND UP FOR WHAT IS RIGHT. ALLOWING 1300 INSURANCE COMPANIES TO COMPETE FOR THE BUSINESS WOULD DO MORE TO KNOCK DOWN COSTS THEN ANYTHING ELSE. AND THEY WANT TO RAISE THE COSTS BY TAXING SURGICAL IMPLEMENTS TO MAKE THE INSURANCE COMPANIES LOOK BAD. ONCE AGAIN, THANK G-D FOR YOU, AND YOUR COURAGE.

  4. Typical of Lieberman, his voice mail box is full. Nice tactic for not hearing any voices from real people. I’ll bet there is an open avenue for “clear thinking” corporations, especially health insurance corporations who think clearly about preying on the middle class and elderly.

  5. After all the work the Congress has done to finally get a chance to provide a modicum of affordable health insurance for every American, you plan on single handedly crossing over to the republican side to block this legislation. Words cannot convey my disdain for you and your closet republican lack of true concern for the American people, who obviously want this option. You are an unabashed whore for the insurance companies and a thoroughly despicable human being.

  6. ha ha ha ha ha ….

“Clear Thinking People” apparently can’t figure out the “caps lock” button …

  7. Reply to Mr. Ken:

1300 insurance companies won’t compete. Another right wing myth. They’ll price fix.
Gimme a break. The truth is that we don’t need insurance companies at all. That’s what they’re truly afraid of, being recognized for what they are: pocket liners for CEOs and thoroughly worthless institutions.

  8. Thanks Joe for being a part of our organization….billionares for wealthcare…we need more paid off elected officials to keep fighting for us….p.s more money will be coming your way soon so hang in there and keep pretending you care about the people who elected you….

  9. Senator: Joe Lieberman you are a disgrace to the U.S.A. MR. Joe Lieberman has no back bone, thank you Mr.G. Bush and Mr.Joe Lieberman for ruining this country, Yes we can, and Yes we well get Public Option.

  10. Senator Lieberman,

I guess we should not be surprised. You have always been about power and greed and doing anything possible to keep your job. Over 2 million from the Health Ins industry! Look how powerful you were in the stock market yesterday!

You are a disgrace to this country and you clearly have NO interest in promoting health care for all Americans. Harry Reid (as usual) made a huge mistake…

  11. Once again, Sen. Lieberman has shown his disdain for his party (he is still a democrat, isn’t he?) and ingratitude to his President who spared him his chairmanships after those withering campaign comments. Senator, put down the insurance company checks and start representing the American people. Change is being demanded! Listen up!

  12. We the people of this great nation need an option if you want to call it a public option that’s fine. But we need an option. Any one Senator that stands between the people and what we the people want and need should considered such obstruction an act of treason. I’m calling you out Mr Lieberman for being the terrorist that you are. You have sold your soul to the special interest groups that are not and have never been for the people. Instead they disregard and terrorise us the people each and every day. And on a MORL Level, MY DEAR ENEMY OF THE STATE, you have aliened yourself with an INSURANCE CARTEL that is no better than the OIL CARTEL and the DRUG CARTEL of Central and South America. You should be tried for treason at best.

  13. First be advised that I, as many of many of friends, we are very …very disappointed with your comment that you don’t support public option suggested by majority Leader Reid. You are worse that republican who oppose everything proposed by democrats. How in the world could you argue that public option will add to the deficit while CBO concludes that in fact, it is going to reduce the deficit? You have to support public option otherwise we find a better replacement for you come 2012.
    Yours,
    Very angry and disappointed.

  15. Hey KEN –
What insurance company do you work for. There is going to be a special place in hell for people like you. You care more about your insurance “Monster” company than the lives of millions of people.
    You are disgusting.

  16. Should we not be surprised… Lieberman has always been about himself. His wife Hadassh is a paid “consultant” for the health insurance industry. I bet she’ll really make a killing this year.

  17. Mr. Lieberman,

    Keep up the good work.

    Mr. Press,

This morning a listener suggested to you that maybe the Blue Dog Dems you seem to target these days are actually doing what their constituents are supportive of … you quickly rejected the notion, but had no data to support it. You are quick to recite polls, but do you ever look into the numbers? Like the one that show 57% support of a public health option? Do you know that 13% more Democrats responded than Republicans? Do you think that makes a difference?

You lose credibility quickly when you don’t deal with facts. Truth is, the majority of American People are smart enough to know Government cannot get out of its own way. Sure, the idea of costing less sounds great, but government cannot show ONE SINGLE instance where it FAIRLY competes and costs less than the private sector.

USPS gets free land and does not pay taxes, plus they’re the only ones allowed to send First-Class mail (that’s a monopoly). Medicare – going broke. Social Security – going broke!

    Fix yourself Washington!

  18. Hey Joe, Mr enemy of the state. Yes you Mr Lieberman always in the good fight for Israel, RIGHT? In case you did not know, Mr Lieberman they Have single payer/public option/universal health care/Socialised Med. Why are so much for the rights of the Israeli people but you don’t give a rats ass about the people that you are supposed to represent, the us, the we the people of these United States. You should be tarred and feathered then tried for treason.

  19. To Sen. Lieberman,

Its absolutely disgusting that you are against Health Care reform. Has the health insurance industry lined your pocket with so much money that you are willing to go against the wishes of majority of Americans? I promise to do whatever I can to stop you from getting elected next time you run for office

  20. it is hard for me to only comment about mr lieberman, but,i wounder if those in conn. are as dissapointed in there vote as those in minn are in mrs. bachmann(or at least i hope) what a independant or a dependant on the status quo. dose he believe that he is a true representative of his state or the of the constituants of his state, and not special interests.it is not and can not be the whole truth. not that there are not people in conn. that are for some misinterperated idea of 1984 against a cheeper more pure public option for public health care/insurance, being against it only because of the gov run part of the whole thing, even if better and cheeper, but say it aint so joe at least give some form of a public option the chance of being heard and possibly being voted on so if u are right that it is not desiered nothing will change but at least give it a chance and than really listen and look around to see if the current way it is of a ludacris cost of health care isnt what we want and than mabe you can redeem your self, so dont just block to block, block for reason not special interest or conections. sorry for grammer errors i am not a grammer star.

  21. Good job, Senator Lieberman.

47 million uninsured … rubbish. I am one of the 47 million and I simply choose to self-insure. Stop presenting that fictitious number as the number of people who want, but cannot afford, insurance. You can be in the tank for the admin, but at least show a little intellectual honesty rather than simply parroting the Dem talking points.

Grow a pair, Bill – you come off sounding like a lapdog.

  22. My work provided health ins premiums are going up again this fall. Gone up 42% since 2005. Not counting increases in deductibles and copays. There’s no competition, only collusion.
The Ins Industry gets filthy rich while millions can’t afford to play their life and death game. Joe, you’ve fallen so far into the deep pockets of the health insurance industry that you can’t climb out.
Joe, history will judge you harshly on this one, siding with the ins ind. profit machine over the health of Americans. Disgraceful.
I’ll be sending $$$ to help unseat you in 2012.

Hope you enjoy your gov admin health care coverage while denying the same for the rest of America.

  23. Joe and his wife got rich selling us out to the insurance monopolies, much the same way Evan Bayh and his wife did. These bums need to go and we need new blood to vote in campaign finance reform to take the voice away from corporations. Corporations are supossed to be serving us, why the hell are we serving them? Shame on you JOE!

  24. Fred Henry? More like Dill Henry. I proud of you for making your choice, now let everyone else make theirs! It’s a public OPTION (a Choice), look up the word. It’s not going to cost your self insured ass a dime, do some research and some reading before you come off like a “DILL HENRY”! Pack up JOE, your outta here in 2012!

  25. I suppose I should consider myself lucky to have private insurance in this day and age.
But let me tell you this because I don’t think you realize how bad they are.
There are errors and denials at least 50% of the time. Insofar as choosing your own doctor. I wish.
They hike the deductible to discourage any choice outside of their network. Often you select
an in network doctor only to find out that the facility or the anesthesiologist is out of network and
your stuck paying full price for that. My in network doctor refused an immunization shot for
my daughter – they only had enough for public aide patients. Guess they pay better.
I have nothing but disdain for this industry. They are the culprits of our failed system. They are
the death panels. You are accepting contributions from this industry which I feel amounts to bribery
and corruption. You are collecting government health care while denying it to others. People are dying as
a result of lack of insurance and denials and you should be appalled that this is going on. The majority
of your state supports a public option. Are you representing your state or the insurance companies?
A government system could succeed without raising taxes. I would gladly trade in my premiums and call
them taxes instead. It can be done. Other countries are doing it and getting better results than we are.
It’s because of people like you that we’re stuck with this miserable health care system.
As long as it works for you than it’s okay. Doesn’t matter that people are dying and losing their
homes as long as it works for you.

  26. Does a millionaire need health insurance? Wouldn’t they just pay for care as needed? How many wealthy folks are figured into the 47 or 33 or 20 Million folks we are talking about?
