President Lou Dobbs
Well, what do you know? CNN’s President Jon Klein is a man of his word, after all.
A couple of months ago, he vowed to throw all talk-show hosts off the air. And now he’s done just that, kicking Lou Dobbs out the door – even though he let Lou pretend it was his decision to quit. But he didn’t fool anybody but himself.
The big question is: What does Lou Dobbs do next? Or, better put: What new venue is possibly big enough to contain Dobb’s huge ego?
Certainly not another cable news network. Lou doesn’t fit on the little screen anymore – anywhere.
Certainly not another business venture. He tried that once, and failed miserably.
There’s only one place Dobbs can find the ego gratification he craves, and that’s politics. And, in his mind, there’s only one job worthy of his greatness: President of the United States.
Would Republicans be dumb enough to nominate Lou Dobbs? Of course, they nominated Sarah Palin for vice-president, didn’t they? And they’ve made Rush Limbaugh – or is it Glenn Beck? – head of their party. Lou Dobbs is a perfect fit.
Mark my words. It won’t be long before Lou Dobbs shows up in Iowa.
That’s my parting shot for today.
