If the health bill is good for America, Every Republican will vote against it

A historic vote took place in the Senate Saturday night, and Sunday morning’s headlines told the whole story: “Senate Approves Health Care on a Strictly Partisan Vote.”

That’s it. That’s the big story. All 58 Democrats, and two Independents, boldly voted for Universal Health Care. 39 Republicans shamefully voted against it.

Think about that.

The Senate bill extends health insurance to 31 million Americans who today can’t afford it. 39  Republicans voted against it.

The Senate bill ends discrimination based on pre-existing conditions and makes preventive care completely free for everyone, with no cost-sharing. 39  Republicans voted against it.

The Senate bill gives tax credits to small business to help them provide health insurance to employees. It extends family coverage for children up to 26 years of age. It prohibits insurance companies from dropping your coverage when you or a member of your family gets sick and needs it most. 39  Republicans voted against it.

Even that phony Olympia Snowe voted against it, after getting so much positive media for voting yes in the Finance Committee.

We don’t know what the final bill will look like. But we did learn this Saturday night. If it’s good for America, every Republican will vote against it.
