Bill Brady, don't even begin to believe you are the only one who cares about the troops. I have been a member of Operation Uplink for yours.

Elton, all I can say is that I hope you are never in a position you become very sick and lose your job and insurance. This is distilling the conversation to some degree, but, the essence of what we are discussing.

I am late in getting back here. But, Bill, please don't even go there about the military. My father was in North Africa and Italy during WWII, suffered from malaria. To the end of his life, he was a pro-union Democrat.

I worked for the VA as a physician assistant. I can't tell you how many comments I heard about, "no one cares about me", "why won't they cover my cancer treatment?" Well, I became a person I don't like very much when I told them that, well, we are spending so much on war, there is nothing else for you. I just get so disgusted with people who live by the talking points of Faux Noise, that I ahve little sympathy left for them.

Hi Dan,

Will you please tell Bill that I have deeply appreciated his optimism, ethusiasm and loyal support of President Obama before and after his election, however now that he is joining the Republicans in tearing down his administration I will no longer listen to Bill Press. Russ Bellville is even worse. I won’t be tuning in at 3:00 in the morning, which is a shame because Bill has a unique perspective in Washington, living on Capitol Hill and knowing so many people there. You, Dan, add much to the show and I’ll miss you, too.

Bye,
Ann Brooks

Margaret and Heathcare is a Right Supporters,

I was reading the bible looking for the passage where Jesus says healthcare is a right. I cannot find it.
Where is this reference you are using to support your argument?
I do find multiple references where we should take care of each other... but rights via governments are not mentioned.

Also, to all on this post who believe healthcare is a RIGHT, please define what type of healthcare you believe in?

For the overweight, is it healthy food? Where do they get it at affordable prices as needed?

What about exercise and rehabilitation? Are Gym memberships included.
In order to get to the gym I need someone to watch my children (special needs kids). Is this covered? If so, How?

Food is a definate need, without which we die. Is this covered under healthcare?
Clothing, home, education and other items in society are related to good health, ergo Healthcare... Are they covered? If not, Why? Without medicine you might die, without food/clothing/shelter you will die.

Maybe preventive care is not covered... Maybe only once you are sick the care is covered? If this is the case, how do we certify that the sickness is covered, ergo, you are reallt ill? You could run up a lot of expenses only to find out you are 'not really sick'.

Right now my family only goes to the Dr when we have to, partially because we cannot afford excessive visits? Does this Right mean that I can take my family to the Dr anytime I want, for as many visits as I want, as I deem necessary? Day or night?

Currently we wait for around 15 to 30 minutes for visits. How will we maintain this standard?

Margaret, as a part of reducing costs of care are you willing to take a reduction in pay? Charity begins with you. I see from you previous statements that you are generous with other peoples money, what about if it effects you directy?

How many people in this post are willing to actually donate to services which help the needy. PAYING TAXES is not Donating. Paying taxes is an obligation... you have no choice. Charity is a personal option.

For those who argue that People against socialization should send back what the government allots, after we are REQUIRED to pay in... How about you relinquish what was earned via our military and unnecessary wars. Give up your US Citizenship, do not vote, no freespeach, ect...

The Constitution is supposed to be the Supreme Law of the land. Where is ANY type of healthcare listed (or hinted at) as a RIGHT!

The arguments about Police and Fire Departments are non-sequitors. The FEDERAL government does not control these.
If a State or Local government wants to this they are allowed (under the US Constitution), but not the Feds.
Military is provided for in the Constitution.
Roads can be said to be covered under the Interstate Commerce clause (with only a little stretch).

If you think your neighbor needs health insurance, do the Christian thing and provide it for them, but dont steal from others to fund your 'good' works.

Yours in Yeshua
