Go after Giuliani, Not Reid
Once again, the media’s going wild over an outrageous remark made by a leading politician. Unfortunately, they’re going after the wrong man.
They’re all focusing on Harry Reid. They should be focusing on Rudy Giuliani.
Yes, during the 2008 campaign, Reid made a dumb mistake. Saying publicly that Barack Obama had a better chance to win the nomination because he was a light-skinned black and didn’t speak with a heavy black accent.
That was insensitive, at best. But Reid’s apologized for it, and President Obama’s accepted.
Far more outrageous is what Rudy Giuliani said Friday on “Good Morning America.” Commenting on the Christmas Day incident, Giuliani said the United States had no terrorist attack on U.S. soil when George Bush was in the White House – yet had already had one under Barack Obama.
Oh, no? What about Richard Reid’s shoe-bomb incident? What about two agents for El Al blown away at LAX? And, most of all, what about September 11 itself, on George Bush’s watch?
That was no dumb mistake by Giuliani. That’s an outright, deliberate lie. The same lie former Bush Press Secretary Dana Perino told Fox News earlier. All part of a campaign to paint Obama as soft on terrorism.
The media should forget about Harry Reid’s off-the-cuff comments of two years ago. And focus on Rudy Giuliani’s big lies of today.
That’s my parting shot for today.

What frustrate the he– out of me: that the republicans seem to have a bigger and louder voice than us dems, when we are supposed to be the majority! Why is Liz Cheney given a voice at all? what credentials has she? why does Stephanapolous (sp?) keep having her on his show? Why aren’t people of good will speaking out when outrageous lies are stated and why don’t pundits challenge those misstatements when they occur? I quit watching out of disgust. When reporters and pundits start challenging the obvious lies and propaganda, I will resume watching. People need to defend our President and stand up to the fanatics (Glen Beck, Limbaugh, Palin,et al) and make them look like the nut cases they are – it’s ridiculous the Michelle Bachman’s and Ann Coulters of this world are even on tv. let alone allowed to spew out their garbage ad infinitum. If it’s all about ratings, watch the ratings crash!

I like Rachel’s take on Liz Cheney’s dodge on accuracy of her answer.
That’s what Giulani is counting on with his remarks.
1. Fox sound bit is sublimial cue.
2. No one looks at total statement or hears any further comments.
3. If your a Fox viewer your mind shuts down and you don’t hear the
complete statement.
4. And/Or every time the sound bit cue is said by media ,your mind
shuts off.

Giuliani? Why is Bill Clinton getting a pass on referencing Obama as his and Ted Kennedy’s coffee servant? Don’t the Democrats ever get tired of playing the race card? The Republicans are just as ignorant in raving about Reid. Reid said absolutely nothing wrong. He just made a correct statement in a ignorant way. Getting us coffee though? Where is the outrage on this?
