THE BILL PRESS SHOW

Bill Press Holiday

If I was a Palin Supporter, I’d Want My $100,000 Back

They paid Sarah Palin $100,000 – for what?

If I were the organizers of that event – or one of the tea baggers who shelled out $549 – I’d want my money back.

For 45 minutes, all Palin did was string together a lame collection of clichés and cheap shots – without offering one idea of her own. Three times, she called for “common-sense conservative solutions to problems” – without suggesting even one.

And when she did get specific, what did she call for?

Tax breaks for small business. Who just proposed that? Barack Obama!

Government investment in renewable energy projects. Who just proposed that? Barack Obama!

Building new nuclear power plants and expanding offshore drilling. Again, who just proposed that in his State of the Union? Barack Obama!

The lady’s not only a liar, she’s a thief!

And then she took questions from the conference organizer, which she had obviously been shown ahead of time – because she had crib notes for answers scribbled in the palm of her hand!

Palin’s best moment was when she said that conservatives would only succeed in taking back the government if they agree “to seek divine intervention again.”

No kidding! They’ll need divine intervention – if Sarah Palin’s their presidential nominee in 2012.

That’s my parting shot for today.
