On february 17 2005 Bill Press wrote the following. " Long live Mr. Smith - and the Fililbuster". This was in reference to the movie "Mr. Smith goes to Washington." On May 21, 2005 on the Mclaughlin Group, Bill Press was asked by the moderator if the Democrats would defend the right to filibuster if they were in control of the Senate. Mr. Press said " Democrats were in charge for over 40 years; they did not get rid of the filibuster." I would not say that Mr. Press( like the Senate Democrats) are driven by principle. Also, if people are so hell bent on having a public option and transforming this nation into socialism - wouldn't it just be easier for all of you to pack up and move to Europe. Sounds like you'd be much happier there. Leave the principles and values this nation was founded on alone!
