    To Mr. Peter Ogburn,

I only caught about 10 minutes of your show this morning on my drive into the office. However, I was very pleased to hear your comments on the use of Killer Whales in the Sea World shows. It is unfortunate that these tragedies must occur before people pay attention to the arguement that wild animals must be left to the wild. I am an advocate for protecting and preserving the regions that support these amazing creatures and believe that using wild animals for our own entertainment and amusement is simply wrong. We saw what a “pet” Chimpanzee can do when he decides to act naturally. We saw what a “trained” Las Vegas show Tiger can do to the one person that probably cared the most for him. Now it’s a Killer Whale and his trainer. Your response on where we “draw the line” was excellent. There is great benefit to having humans see living wild animals and it is understandable that only a few can visit their natural habitats. So, we should endorse only a limited number of closely monitored zoological parks that showcase “ambassador” wild animals that are unable to be returned to the wild. Those parks must provide an enriched living environment for those species whose lives they are entrusted to protect. A “bath tub”, as you so perfectly noted, is no place for a Killer Whale. Thank you for presenting the most common sense and humane position possible.
