So,,,now Bill informs us that there is nothing to stop Congress voting this terrible health care non-reform bill down, and then bringing up a real health care reform bill that is a public option/single-payer bill.
Good.
If the Democrats are to have any hope of winning any time soon, they must start with a real health care reform bill, not a sham.
Force ALL members of Congress to vote on it and force them to then have to go home to defend their vote and face the music.
The polls say that a public option is favored by the vast majority of voters, and why the Democrats are not running with this issue, and fighting hard for it, is beyond my comprehension.
It's like they want to lose...

We need citizens to protest Obama appearances in Philadelphia and elsewhere in support of the public option so that he knows the base is serious about this issue and not thrilled about increasing the profit margins and power of insurance companies, without having real choice or affordability.

I am a union member and disabled. I worked hard to get Obama elected. If the Public Option is not included, I will not be voting for any re-election of Obama. It is progressives who helped Obama get elected, and we are being "thrown under the bus". Well, I will remember this and I vote in every election. Same goes for my useless Senators, Robert Byrd and Jay Rockefeller. Neither will commit to the letter to pass this through reconciliation. What is upsetting, Sen. Rockefeller kept showing up on Ed Shultz and kept saying that a Public Option would be in the bill, but he will not commit on paper (Sen. Bennett's letter) to passing the Public Option through reconciliation.

Take a look and we might be able to connect sometime. Your shows and expertise are great. I'm running against Trent Franks, AZ-02, the 'birther' man, and runs with one issue.

Come on all - Stop doing the chicken little thing... The fight is just getting interesting. Go ahead and call me naive, but I think Pres. Obama will in the end support the public option, especially as part of the reconciliation process with only 51 votes needed. Why oh way stir up even more republican venom now than needed? They don't need any more bait to get caught on the hook of Thursday's meeting. I'm expecting that as with the congressional retreat / caucus performance they will all look pretty silly on Thursday with nothing of consequence to contribute except "no" and some smirking... should be quite a show! Gee will fox "NEWS" cover this? My congressman (P. Murphy - PA) and one of my senators (Arlen Spector) have signed the letter - just emailed the other (Bob Casey) pushing him to join the list of those with cojones... we'll see.

Go ahead a push for the public option. After we lose our majority in Novemeber, it will be impossible.

As an ironclad Kucinich supporter who voted for Obama, my disappointment in him continues. I think he's gone from presenting as a populist on the campaign trail, to being a centrist on arrival to the White House, and now, he's just turned into a right-winger??
I was always more tickled to see a Black woman become a First Lady more than anything else. As Thom Hartmann said, he needs to stop acting like a senator. He also needs to completely disregard the Republicans, since they hate this "n" word in the White House. I'm still hoping for the public option ... I have told him if he doesn't do this he'll be a one-term president.

I have read that reconciliation is intended for the budget only. If that is true, then using reconciliation for health care is a very bad idea for the country.

Mr President

I did not ask you to compromise on my behalf. I just want you to represent me.
"Mr President tear this bipartisan bridge down"
