Lt. Gov. Bill Halter (D-AR) is running for the Democratic nomination for Senate in Arkansas.
This past week Lt. Gov. Halter announced several commitments to the people of Arkansas regarding how he would be a different kind of Senator – he will not take a pay raise as long as there is a federal deficit, he will have town halls in every county at least once a year so that Arkansans can meet with their Senator at least once every twelve months close to home, without an appointment and without making a campaign contribution, he will post his Senate schedule online so that Arkansans know who he is meeting with everyday and he will never become a lobbyist.
