  1. Bill: I know you’re more educated than Rush Limbaugh, so I have to take issue with your opening shot today, “The media fuels the stock market bomb.”
    For anyone who’s ever taken Latin, the sound of “media” with a singular verb is the aural equivalent of fingernails screeching their way slowly down a chalkboard.
    A medium fuels. The media fuel.
    If you imagine the word “various” in front of “media” whenever you use the word “media” it might be easier to remember it’s a plural word.
    Sorry for the lecture, but I’m trying to keep you firmly on the pedestal we progressives have put you on. (Yes, I know . . . I just ended a sentence with a preposition, and that is a mistake up with which I will not put!)
